Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will be riding on the famed Cervélo bikes for the 2015 season. Cervélo is a world renowned bicycle brand known for making the worlds fastest and lightest bicycles.
Cervélo was founded in 1995 by Phil White and our teams current Director of Fan Engagement, Gerard Vroomen. As a company Cervélo was built around the philosophy of not just making something different, but of making something better. To this day we know the company has stayed true to its word as the World Championship titles and various other accolades speak for themselves. Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will be making use of the companies 3 flagship bikes, the R5, the S5 and the P5 this season.
Head Mechanic Klas Johansson was busy assembling the bikes at our camp in Stellenbosch, SA.
The R5 has been engineered to optimize strength, stiffness and comfort while offering low weight in every situation. Therefore the R5 will more often than not be the bike of choice for riders like Louis Meintjes and Merhawi Kudus as they look to rack up the victories in the mountains. The S5 is the worlds most aerodynamic road bike, its remarkable stiffness also makes it the fastest road bike in the world.
Theo Bos and Edvald Boasson Hagen will become well accustomed with the S5 as it will be the weapon of choice for our riders in the classics, sprint stages and over undulating parcours. The final bike in our arsenal will be the P5, used for time trials. Just take a look at the Ironman World Championships event and its not hard to see which is the first choice bike in a race against the clock. The revolutionary aerodynamics and extensive testing process it continually undergoes has allowed the P5 to win more titles around the world then any other brand.

Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung believe there is no better or faster bike they could be riding, the latest Cyclingnews reader poll is further testament to this claim as the R5 was voted “Best team bike in the world”.
